This dwarf cultivar of Banksia ericifolia has fine needle-like lime green leaves and masses of scarlet red flowers. It has a more open habit than other banksias and is best used as a specimen for smaller gardens, and is also very useful for hedging.
Like many other Banksia, this variety is tolerant of drought, frost and coastal conditions but it grows best in moist, well drained soil in a sunny or partly shaded position. This beautiful large shrub is very attractive to many species of birds.
The original hybrid was bred by Rod Parsons of Carawah Nursery from a garden selection and released in 2004. This selection is now found in most nurseries around Australia and can also be bought via mail order from the links below.
